“If you have to choose between being kind and being right, choose being kind and you will always be right.” Rumi.

Rumi’s quote, “If you have to choose between being kind and being right, choose being kind and you will always be right,” isn’t about factual correctness. Instead, it argues for a deeper truth found in human connection.

Often, we prioritize proving our point, which can lead to conflict. Rumi suggests kindness is a higher virtue, prioritizing empathy and respect over intellectual victory. Choosing kindness means acting with goodwill and valuing relationships. The rightness then comes from acting honorably and adopting connection, ultimately leading to more meaningful and peaceful outcomes than simply being factually correct.
